Fleeing Left

To the Woods!

You choose to go left which goes deeper into the woods. You are very tired by this point and can hear the Marb running behind you in determined strides. You see a stream running across the path; maybe this will give you an idea. You run faster toward to stream and jump across it. At that moment a young man in a tattered red jacket and yellow pants jumps out from some trees and hits the Marb with a dead tree trunk. The Marb falls back, roars in protest that his potential meal has escaped him, and then jumps at the young man. The trespassing biker simply takes out an air horn and unloads on the animal. The noise is too much for the Marb; he runs back the way he came in search of easier prey.

“Thank you,” you tell the biker after much time to catch your breath.

“Don’t thank me yet,” responds the biker, “That book back there is worth a fortune and you’re in my way.”

With that he takes out a gun and shoots you in the head. It is a clean shot and you are killed instantly. The biker walks back toward the hut with reading Do Not Open on his mind. Little does he know that he will experience a much worse fate than you.

*You have died and thus have ended the Hike in the Park. Yet this doesn’t have to be the end: go back to the previous page, or go back to make things right, or perhaps a safer place, see a view, or go way back.
